Ok, so i bought the "Premium quality" brake rotors and pads from Napa for my Z34
880437 - the front rotor -$130 list, $90 jobber.
what im wondering, is for the $250 total i just spent (pads were like $60 or something) is there any kind of upgrade? how big are the gen 2 rotors? would something like corvette brakes work? lol i know this is getting a little extreme, but what does a guy have to do to fit another vehicles brake calipers and rotors on? im assuming new hubs, spindles, maybe a new strut and lower control arm? then new tie rod ends and ball joints....

Put pads/rotors/calipers on from a Chevy Kodiak/GMC Topkick.

You can't put 2G brakes on your car, however you can upgrade to 1.5G rotors.  Midway through the 95 model year, they began equipping the W's with 11.25" front rotors (versus your car's 10.5" rotors.)  You can reuse your calipers and brackets, but you'll have to swap out your strut knuckle assemblies for ones from a car with the larger rotors.  I believe the only difference between the older and newer knuckles is the mounting locations for the calipers.  The newer knuckles mount the calipers further out to accommodate the larger rotors.

If you went that route, you should also upgrade your rear brakes to 94+ 1G/1.5G rears.  The newer calipers don't seize up like the 88-93's, plus they're a tad bit larger.

Dubya Body dot com used to have write-ups on how to do each upgrade.  Not quite sure if they're still there - I haven't visited that place in over 2 years...

that site doesnt really agree with my computer. so i stay away from it. that one and 60*v6. im on there quite a bit due to engine help! lol but i really just go there for ideas on what to do to my car, those guys seem to spend WAY too much money on shit. lol

one guy, has a beat up BASE model 88 GP with a motor that when last running was on 5 cylinders. the body is beat up, the interior is trashed and the engine is toasted. why not get a new car?? Nope this dumb fuck wants to drop in a 3400 with 3500 top end and all this other crap... ummm. get a new car. lol one that just needs engine work, not work all around!

I wasn't talking about the forum.  The main page has write-ups (or at least it used to back in the day.)
