My '92 RS has needed the front rotors replaced since the day I bought it. With 80k on the original front rotors, it was REALLY time to replace them. The problem I always had was the torx bolt was rusted and stripped, so the caliper mounting brackets were never going to come off.

I had my uncle in Oregon visit a junk yard and pull me some nice rust free brackets and bolts and proceeded to cut the brackets and bolts off the spindles. Here's some pics.

Old brackets cut off:

Had to do the same thing with my old 96 Lumina.  The bracket I cut wasn't that rusty, but the numbnuts that owned the car before me stripped out the Torx bolt (and didn't bother to put any anti-sieze on the threads!)

Lucky for us, the brackets are the same for both sides on all 1G and 1.5G W's...

Yeah it was really bad. Night and day difference between the new rotors & pads and the old ones!
