Man I just had my car in my autoshop, to do wheel hub assembly's on the front. Well les schwab who did my pads like 4 years ago (but only like 7 thousand miles ago) One pad didnt even touch part of the rotor, so like 7/8 of the pad was eaten down to nothin and the rest was like brand new....... so i pull off the rears, the rotors were rusty!!!! they hadent been used because the caliper slides were seized rock solid.....When the slides pulled out they wernt even rusty, just no grease, i honed out the holes, and greased em up. Turned all the rotors. All new pads. Thing stops like a champ now. I assumed the rears were working because the Parking brake held the car just fine. I noticed that the car was squirly in the rear end on hard stops, now that the rear brakes are actually working..thats solved. So check your rear brakes frequently, i guess i really didnt realize how bad the rear brakes on these cars were for seizing.

Interestingly enough, my Regal had a seized rear caliper which I removed (young and too poor to replace it). It stopped just as well with 3 calipers as it did with 4...

if you just hammer out the slides and clean it up, and lube it up real good, they work just fine
