Have you taken your rotors to your local parts store to see if they can be turned?  The rears on my red Impy were a tad bit warped, but for the halibut I took them to O'Reilly's to see if they could be salvaged.  Sure as shit, they were still servicible, so I had them turned for $10 apiece.  I bought a can of DupliColor black caliper paint and painted the top side of the rotor (and afterword used brake cleaner to remove the paint from the area where the pads contacted.)  As far as I was concerned, they were as good as new!

trouble with machining them (especially fronts) is youre taking something that was X thick, and making W thick. lol it just make it a little thinner and more prone to warpage. when i do brakes i just like to use new rotors too. lol call me picky but its just how i am, i do drive my car pretty hard though, especially when no one is in it but me

True, true.  But I've seen people wear their front rotors down to nearly the cooling vanes, so I figured in my case it'd be worth a shot to see if they were still servicible.  Now come to think of it, 2nd Gen's have larger (and thicker) rotors than the 1st Gen's, so maybe you are better off buying new rotors.

Although I've never purchased rotors from them, try Rock Auto.  When I did my full tune-up on my red Impy last year, I bought all my parts from them and saved over 50% off what PepBoys or O'Reilly's charged for the same parts, even after paying shipping.  I saved ~55% on the 2 oxygen sensors alone! (One was $112 retail, and I paid $50 thru Rock Auto.)

I'll see if I can take a look today at work. You're probably looking at $30 a piece though for the cheapos. Except me, I need rear brakes and my rotors are gonna be like $80 a piece. But, thats because I'm getting the BEST that I can get. To me, theres 2 places you DONT cheap out on a car: Brakes, wiper blades.

And to be perfectly honest... most rotors (especially the economy line like you want) are so cheap (by that I mean cheaply made) that turning them is pointless.

Yeah. By the way... I get enough of that at work. "I want the best brakes you have and I want them for free" basically. I hate it. Everyone wants something for nothing, no body wants to pay for their car parts.

Speaking of which, reminds me of an incident a couple weeks ago... allow me to tell the tale:

Man enters store, walks up to the counter:

Me: Hi! Can I help you?
Him: Yeah, I need a fuel filter for my 2000 Chevy Truck.
Me: Is it a Silverado, S-10, what?
Him: Silverado.
Me: 1500, 2500?
Him: It's a 1500.
Me: Okay, what engine do you have in there?
Him: I don't know.
Me: Is the truck outside?
Him: Yes
Me: Can I go look at it?
Him: No
So I go into the back and get the fuel filter from my best guess at the engine.

Him: Wait, this says fuel filter... I wanted an oil filter.
Me: Did you sir? Sorry, my mistake (I run back and put the fuel filter back and grab the oil filter for the same truck. Come back up front and finish the sale, he leaves...

About an hour later, he arrives back, fuming mad.

Me: Hi! You're back? What's wrong?
Him: YOU SOLD ME THE WRONG FILTER! I am tired of this, every time I come here you give me the WRONG PARTS! This is the third time! You know, I have a friend who is a mechanic and he says he doesn't buy from you because you screw up constantly. (all of this said in a loud tone). At this point, my manager (who happens to be my dad) intervenes. I go into the back because I don't want to listen to this guy bitch. I am just behind the wall a few feet back from the counter. I'm just randomly checking out the brake pads and gas caps while I'm waiting. I then hear the guy say "It's a 350, like an F350" (still in an aggravated voice.) It was at this point I realized the vehicle sitting in front of the store was a 1 ton Chevy dump truck. And now I'm thinking... is this guy a fucking moron?? So my dad, trying to be the nice guy he is, refunds him the money he paid for the oil filter I sold him earlier (he didn't have the filter with him) and sold him what ended up being the right filter. His wife then came back later and threw it through the door. But... I'm just thinking... WHY? How are people so stupid?

The lesson here boys is: treat your local auto parts store employees with respect. If you give them the wrong information and you in return buy the wrong part, be willing to admit your mistake. And for God's sake, dont make a fucking huge scene!

Sorry... didn't mean to rant there...

Holy shit...Threw the filter through the door? Sounds like his entire family needs medication...

It's unbelievable how stupid people are anymore.

I've been sold the wrong parts but always gone back and everything's been cool...Even been thanked a few times for giving someone an education on cars.

i hear ya on this one, but there are times where places get parts wrong, it doesnt happen often but it does happen. mostly when ordering alot of parts in one shot. but deliveries and such are supposed to be checked more then once before they leave according to the 3 parts delivery places i worked for #1 Order picker -should be picking right parts #2 order CHECKER #3 delivery driver -checking them off as he/she is delivering them to the customer.   but somehow it still happens. and even when it does, it still doesnt pay to make a big scene like this i agree. the worst i do to my local parts store guy is call and ask for prices on things like 10 times in one day (different parts and not every day just once and a while)

r1 concepts on e-bay.  I got a plain set and asked for them to be zinc coated, so they would survive rust belt winters...

Damn, they have some pretty good prices on rotors!  $65 for a set of front rotors, and $47 for a set of rears for my Impala.  That's crazyness!!!  :willy_nilly1:
