Having put Intrax on both cutlass's, the vert with the 96+ strut knuckle assembly sits lower than the 89 coupe with the older strut knuckle assembly. I would say it sits about 1/2" lower.

If only the lower spring plate height could be adjusted like a coilover.

that would be nice, but then again the lower spring plate would probably rub the top of the tire (it's pretty close as is).  with a narrower spring and lower spring plate it probably wouldn't be a problem (like the Held front coilovers).

well i ordered new jounce bumpers and strut boots for the Cutlass today.  i think the brand was McQuay-Norris and for both sides it was about $45 from Checker.  they are separate (not integraged like the KYB stuff i have in the car now) so i'll be able to cut 1.5" off the bottom of the jounce bumper and still have strut boots.  finally the car won't be riding on the bump stops ! and it will sit 1.5" lower in front than it does now.  then all i need to do is adjust the rear coilover down 1.5" so it sits level smile  i can't wait to finally see the Cutlass sitting LOW and LEVEL like i've been wanting it to for so long now.

just some pics of the McQuay-Norris strut jounce bumpers and boots i got today:

i'm going to cut 1.25" off the jounce bumper.  when Midas installed my strut cartridges they told me it was riding on the KYB jounce bumpers which explains the stiffness (i can hardly even bounce the front of the car like it is now).  that also explains why it isn't sitting low like Ryan's TGP with Intrax springs.  so i figure i should be good cutting 1.25" off.  the car will probably sit a good inch lower than it is now, and it won't be practically riding on the jounce bumpers so the ride will be softer....and i will still have strut boots smile

i'd probably cut even more off than that, but then the strut boot wouldn't snap onto the jounce bumper.  if all else fails then i'm going to remove the jounce bumpers and boots completely.
