www.truckperformance.com is where I purchased my bar.
A few problems which i've encountered with the OLD BAR.
#1 With my car being lowered 2" with the ffp coilovers, my addco swaybar would rub on the center of the rear alignment arms. There was roughly 1/2" clearance between the two. So naturally any bump on the road would allow for the bar and the center of the alignment cars to meet and make a loud annoying noise.
Remedy: Air hammer to remove a little bit of metal from the center bottom of the alignment arms. Between the 2 nuts that you have to losen to adjust your rear TOE.
#2 It has been said that the bar can rub up against the strut by the bushing? I've never encountered this problem personally
Remedy:Adam makes little metal spacers that will fix the problem. Once again I have never had this problem.
#3 The center link design for the addco bars SUCK ASS. DO NOT follow the instructions that come with the addco bar for the centerlink fabbing! Doing so will only result in your center swaybar hangers snapping in half. This has not happened to me but i've seen this happen to many others.
Remedy: Use your stock center link hangers (#10259660 from
www.gmpartsdirect.com). It is rumored the new version of the center swaybar hangers (#10259660) is stronger than what came from the factory. To use your stock center bar hangers you will be required to buy this bushing/insulator from
www.gmpartsdirect.com (#10270253 X 2 (22mm)) That bushing/insulator(#10270253) will allow you to use the addco 22mm bar with your stock sized center bar hangers. And it has been recently proven(by PCGUY112887) that this will all also work with the REVISED bar.
#4 The polyurethane bushings that come with the addco kit are not snug. They are loose. My experience with the addco bushings was terrible. I had LOTS of sway/play in my steering. I would actually loose control of the car because of this issue while taking VERY hard turns at high speeds. The remedy below helped solve this problem.
Remedy: Greasible Energy Suspension Polyurethane Bushings that are of the CORRECT size. And i'm referring to the OUTER bushings.
www.schucks.com 95158G X 1 (22mm).
Note on the 95158G bushings: The bushing kit(95158G) X 1 comes with 2 brackets and 2 new bushings. You will have to use the brackets that come with the new bushings. The diameter of the bracket holes that go into the lower strut bolts needs to be enlarged. The bracket holes are just a tad smaller than the bolts it's suppose to go over. Nothing that a larger drill bit or a die grinder couldn't fix.
Remember to always grease up your poly bushings.
