What does this symbol mean?

I need to bypass the KEY SOLENOID, but it looks like it is a RESISTED GROUND.  Can anyone help me with this?  This is the first time I have ever came across this symbol, and it has me STUMPED.

Thanks

Here is a better pic   From what I can tell, I think that there is missing information.  I think that there are wires NOT LISTED.  Someday, I will get the entire page up, but until then, I think I am going to try to hook everything up, but just don't hook up those 2 wires, and see if it will keep that 1 lock disabled.

A quick search turned up this. "Transorb" there = transient voltage supression diode.

slightly confused as to your purpose.  are you trying to disable the automatic locking the car does when you turn the car on and start moving?

I am trying to make it so that the shifter will UNLOCK when you turn the key on.

The autolocking of the doors is controlled by the CHIME MODULE.

In the older car, the KEY OFF lock is controlled by a CABLE, but in the newer shiter, it is ELECTRIC.  Instead of 22 wires going to the shifter in the old car, it has 5.  I am trying to make it so that with the key OFF, then the shifter will be LOCKED, but with the key ON, then it will unlock.

??????  what?

what car is this for???

all the cars that I have seen including the up to 99 and whatever GEN 1 W's have a shift interlock cable preventing the shifter from being put in gear while the key cylinder is not turned, and 95+ have an addition shift selonoid that prevents the cable from moving until the brake is pressed.   The selonoid, if unplugged, renders the secondary safety lock inoperative.  the selnoid engages the moment the car powers it up, and powers down when you press the brake.  On a floor shifter car, the selonid is in the center console... disconnecting it especially good if it sticks and does not release...  like it did on my 95 ciera.

Sorry about taking so long.  I finally got it figured out.

The 2000 Grand Prix is different.  The cable that locks the shifter when the key is off, the 2000 Grand Prix does not have that.  At all.  It is all electric controlled, and if you unplug it, it does not reneder it inoperative like the older car.

The older car has 2 cables and 2 wires going to the shifter.  The newer car has 1 cable and 5 wires.

Anyways.  I did some creative thinking and figured that if I did not hook up those 2 wires at all, the interlock would most likely NOT engauge.  I wired it up so that the other 3 wires were connected (transmission positino, hot in run, and brake lock).  That did the trick.

with just those 3 wires, it works like the stock Cutlass Supreme.  When the key is off, the shifter is locked.  When the key is ON, you have to press the brake to unlock it.

I did a vid of it working.  Excuse the mess, but I am going to redo the wiring.  I just used the quick splices and shit because if it did not work, I was going to take it all back out.  I was also out of solder.

Here is a vid.  You can also hear the BOSE radio.  LOL
