i dont hate em, i hate how you took the lazy way out to wire them in improperly.
personally i think rear fog lights are pointless, but that aside the way yours are wired you cant call them fog lights, theyre marker lights.

Wire them improperly? I wired them just the way I wanted to. I originally wanted them wired into the tail lights, and then as a tail light replacement to make the brake lights more prominent. Considering I soldered and heat shrunk all the connections, and then had to cut tall the wiring to the OEM lights and heat shrink them too, I think they're wired as proper as they can be.

they arent wired up as rear fogs. theyre wired up as tail lights. thats not proper, its like wiring in some HID fog lights to your park light switch as well, its still on the park light circuit and therefor cant really be classified as a fog light since it would be active at any time the tail light circuit is turned on.
have a look at how any OEM rear fogs are wired in, the vehicle still has a separate tail light function that is operated by a separate switch from the rear fogs, they dont all just light up together, or the marker lights on the rear arent disabled or just made brighter.

You're completely right, I decided to use them as aftermarket tail light replacements. The original plan which I deviated from was to have them wired into the tail light circuit as fog lights, then I decided to go a step further and use them basically as tail light replacements. Have you noticed that I haven't called these fogs once since I've installed them? Are the wiring mods to disable the OEM tail lights reversible if I decide I don't like the current setup? Absolutely, I made sure of it.
I'm actually toying with another idea, of using these as rear fog/DRL lights. I found this cool module that uses your front turn signals as DRLs . It keeps your front turn signals steadily illuminated until you turn on the blinker, and then whatever respective side will flash (think the Buicks or Corvettes that do this). I may get the module and connect it to the front turn signals, and then wire the Sound-Offs to it, but only steadily illuminated. I toyed with the idea of having them blink also but I don't think it'd look right.
