Ok, so I started to install my new JVC reciever today and I have no friggin clue on how to anchor it to the car! Right now it's just sitting in the dash kit with a plastic nipple on the back of the reciever to go through the hole in the back plastic piece in the dash. There is NOTHING that is holding it in securely. Has anyone had the same issue? How do I achieve this? I can get pictures tomorrow if needed more explanation. Thanks!

the 'cage' from the aftermarket stereo should have tabs that bend to attach it to another bracket that you will more than likely have had to purchase to fill in the empty space that thebigger older deck had. (or did you get a bigger aftermarket deck?)

Yea thats all i did was use the cage and bend the tabs and the CD player locks in, if you do it right it should be just fine. My 6000, Ciera, and TGP have it like that with no issues

some people make brackets to lock it down tighter, but ive never seen a use other than a regal. the install was done in such a narrow path, and stuck out like an inch, and only the side tabs would bend to anything to lock it down. i used some of the screw holes in the side of the deck *with some customly short screws, and made some brackets out of these sorta thin (but not like strapping) strips of metal we had at our shop -for mounting transmission coolers IIRC... but in the lumina just the bent tabs hold it fine.
