"All of our Rack and Pinions are covered by a limited LIFETIME WARRANTY."
i've never had to warranty anything i got from eBay, but if they're willing to stand behind their work with a lifetime warranty, and if the terms aren't a loophole, i say go for it.

Well, the rebuild kit is $26 but I'm not sure I want to dick with that.
AC Delco reman, $132.79 after a $55 core - so total up front would be $187.79 A-1 Cardon reman, $102.89 after a $65 core - so total up front would be $167.89 Atsco reman, $91.79 after a $48 core - so total up front would be $139.79
Those are all from Rockauto WITHOUT shipping included. I can't find any place that carries them new.

Yeah, tell me about it.
The good thing about the ebay guy is there's no core to return, outright sale. That sounds good to me!

Have you tried filling it up with Lucas stop leak yet? Its a pretty big thing with the XJS guys on the Jag forums. If they ever have a power steering leak, they refill the system with straight up Lucas power steering stop leak, up until it stops leaking completely. Nobody has reported any problems, and people are running these cars 20+ years.

Yeah, that stuff is shit. I ran two bottles in it @ $20/each. So I would have been half-way to a new steering rack. Seemed to condition the seals enough to make them let MORE fluid past then before I used it.

Wow. Can't say the same for my Regal. You could hear the difference the moment I put that stuff through. The Jaguar guys swear by it because it actually fixes every power steering leak they've had. Then again, you might have a pretty serious leak that can't be fixed by any additive.

wifey's GP is that bad... except it's leaking up at the shaft. throws power steering fluid everywhere. so i just let it run low enough to where it can't leak out. still have full assist, only makes noise when it's cold and now i don't have to worry about pulling the damn serpentine belt off and cleaning it after driving somewhere.

Agreed. I put it in the GP and it is a LOT quieter now.
